Some Songs Just Live Inside - How'd They Do That?

Somehow they settled in while we were living life, washing dishes, singing along around the campfire. Years later, they're still faithfully there waiting for us. We may not know how they arrived, but we know they've taken up residence.
That raises an interesting question.
If a song can settle into our lives by accident, can it also settle there on purpose?
For people who enjoy jams, song circles, and informal music-making, a handful of dependable songs can be worth their weight in gold. After all, we bring our casserole to the potluck and likewise we bring our songs to the circle.
The songs in our back pocket usually aren't the ones we've studied the hardest. They're the ones that resonated, ones that hit our sweet spot one way or another.  Forgotten and then rediscovered sound tracks of our lives.
Maybe that's what we're really after.
Not memorization. Not performance or recital. Just comfortable familiarity.
This video is the beginning of that conversation. The videos that follow will explore practical ways to help songs take root and stay rooted.
Every song is a journey. Follow me and we’ll do this together.
